What have you been doing today?

Had a great day today. Went with my son and grandson plus my sons mate, his parents and his kids to see Hornchurch v Dorking. My sons mate and his family now live in Dorking so they were away supporters. Dorking won but the game had everything, two disallowed Hornchurch goals, a staff punchup at half time right in front of me that I managed to film plus a 22 man player punchup at the final whistle. I’d go again!

Could've been worse, you could have gone to a fight and a match broke out.

Had to take my mums little dog up to be put to sleep. I took her to the vets on Saturday as she was a bit wobbly on her back feet. I thought it might just have been the start of arthritis (she is 13 years old). The vet noticed her head was slightly on one side and there was a very faint rhythmic twitch to her eyes. She said that indicates a brain bleed but only a cat scan can confirm. She has a dicky ticker anyway and has been on meds for a couple of years. Anyway, she worsened last night and was frozen up in her bed this morning with just her eyes moving. I’d say she was all but gone anyway. The vet confirmed the worse so there was no option. He asked if I wanted to be present and of course, I did. He gave her an anaesthetic to put her to sleep then gave her the final injection. Susie will miss her little annoying playmate.R.I.P. Lexi.

Im really sorry to hear that, its a grim moment being at the vets and having to see your pet PTS

I lost my dog in Oct, an ultrasound had indicated cancer of the spleen, but tests were inconclusive so we decided to take her in to have it removed and either here it was malignant and she would have months to live or it would be benign and a few years to live

We took her out early for her walk, took her to the vet at 8.00am, they phoned at 11.00am to say they had misdiagnosed it wasnt cancer of the spleen but a mass in her abdomen.........which they couldnt remove as it was too deeply attached.

The vet gave us the choice of either, stitcher back up, letting here come around, give her sedation and we could go in and see here.......and then they would put her down, or we could just have her not have her come round from the op.

Went on the last shoot on the last day of the season. They only managed to shoot 5 birds, the w*nkers but at least plenty of birds will be safe until October now and will get to pair up, nest and raise family in peace. I always feel sad for the last bird shot on the last day. We went on three farms too!

Might be the last full day shoot for Susie too. She's getting on a bit, 13 this year and she doesn’t have the stamina to push through or jump over brambles like she used to. On the very last drive, I had to carry her out of the brambles as she just stood still and looked at me as if to say, "I've had enough. Gissa lift"!

On the plus side, I finally won the sweepstake by choosing nearest to the number of shots fired.

Went up this morning to collect her ashes. Couldn’t go in, started filling up so came back home. Did the same years ago when I went to collect my Dads ashes. Something about seeing someone/thing you loved reduced to a box of ash. I’ll have to man up and try again later. Either that or ask Mrs Mottie to collect them like I did with my Dad.
