• Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.

What have you been doing today?

Are you meaning a coach, like National Express?

No, just the regular bus service bus(es). One bus to a local market town, then a second one to York. On the way home, a different route, York to Leeds, using the Whitby, to Leeds Coast Liner, then Leeds to home. The Coast Liner, gave us the idea for next week's trip to Whitby.....

It's a maximum fair of £3, Leeds to Whitby, 75 miles, and around 3 hours, through some really beautiful countryside. We are looking to maybe do Leeds to Whitby, then down to Scarborough, then the Coastliner Scarborough to Leeds, then home.

Haven’t you got a freedom pass Harry?

Just looked it up. I had no idea there was such as service. What a great journey. Thornton-le-Dale, North York Moors, Goathland.

I'm now in my 50s, as is one of my mates. We usually do one or two day trips in summer and have always driven. Set off early, get to place, stay the day, drive home evening/night.

When discussing this year's plans, he suggested maybe getting the train to save either of us driving, can take in the scenery etc.

I'm not averse to the plan.

Sounds great. I've done it many times in a car.

Do you remember driving to Scarborough before they built the Tadcaster, York and Malton by-passes in the 1970s.

I certainly do, especially that right-turn in York, to go around the wall. It used to cause horrendous queues.

I spent most of my life driving, as a part of my work, all over the EU and UK - I didn't really see much of it, concentrating on the driving, though I always enjoyed the driving. You can see so much more, as a passenger, letting someone else take the strain.

I don't often use the trains - last time was 12 years ago, doing someone a favour, delivering their car for them, up to the top of Scotland, and coming back down by train. Before that, I would sometimes get a cheap family day rover and take the kids out for the day, throughout the county.

Mrs filly always enjoys an occasional ride in the van (oo-er), she likes that you see so much more being elevated.

Probably not worth it if it's only for a couple of trips but check out rail cards for your area.

Been out to ikea to get er indoors a new desktop, bought lots of other stuff lol.
Built the desk (on a rising desk frame), fitted a tv onto the wall.

She is now happy with a large cutting table in her sewing room.

Now I get to have a rest before I take the dogs out.

I have all the Mondays in May off, so I wonder what's planned for me for tommorrow? lol

And then at some point, if you were going to Bridlington and Flamborough instead, you would turn off to go via Stamford Bridge and Garrowby Hill.
