What have you been doing today?

Not many as the weather's been so crap and wet. I wasn't going to start a thread on this one because of the last one being spammed with anti Israel crap by Odds.
But not anti-semitic?

Go look for those screenshots and find proof or stop threatening to shut down the website.

Been to the gym and really injured my leg and hip, in agony now and worried I am not going to make work tomorrow, been off all week so it doesnt look good taking more time off. I am considering stopping spin classses as never fell off the bikes before so this is a first for me.

Are you sure the injury is not sciatica?

I think I pulled a muscle when I fell off the bike, I am struggling walking now, really annoyed at myself. The pain is quite severe but it may be sciatica although had that before and it wasnt in the same area. A bit worried now I may have done some serious damage

Ice and elevation in the first day or 2 and then heat pads.

Ibuprofen or naproxen (prescription) is good for either.

Any loss of feeling in the toes / foot?

If you lay on your back does the pain ease?

I will try laying on my back now and see, no loss of feelings in my limbs or toes.

OMG now heres a funny thing, I just laid on my back and the pain eased slightly, I could feel as though I was stretching it out and I could raise my leg up and down. since getting up off the floor it had eased a lot from when i laid on the floor. How totally odd is that.

what caused you to fall off?

I assume you use cleated shoes?
Yes I wear cleated shoes but I cant have fully clipped my right one fully home or I may have twisted my foot and it released. I was really going for it and had my hands behind my head whilst pushing it and when my foot released I Iost balance and my fingers locked so I couldnt get my hands to the bars from behind my head so I went down like a sack of potatoes

Sometimes a muscle goes into spasm and won't relax back.

I find an osteopath is good for strains and sprains as well as joints.

You had your hands behind your head while sprinting?

On the cleat thing, gyms never seem to service their bikes properly. I usually take my Topeak multi tool and tighten the spring on the bike cleat before using them.

Its easy enough to work out I this is muscle of nerve.

Side bend - If you stand up and run your fingers down the side of your leg on each side can you get as far on both sides?
Does it hurt if you do a standing forward fold?
Can you do an up dog pose (yoga)?
laying on your back with your legs out straight can you raise them up (one at a time)? does it cause pain with one leg more than the other ?
If these don't cause any pain then it's likely to be a pulled muscle. If they hurt like f** then you might have caused a herniation in your spine, particularly if you've had sciatica before.

Either way its going to be worse tomorrow.
