What have you been doing today?

None of my carpets fitters clear their crap up.
My plumber doesn't clear his crap up.

All tradesmen are supposed to take waste that they generate in the course of their work away with them.

They are supposed to have a waste carrier's licence and bag it up correctly.

This is nothing new.

A company that did a job for me left all the crap outside for me to take to the tip. But, amazingly, they found room in the van for a load of scrap that I was going to weigh in.

When I saw it had gone, I was so annoyed, I rang the company, and told them what the fitters had done. I said they should have taken their waste away, told them they should have a waste carrier's licence and the boss admitted they didn't.

So I said, in that case, they shouldn't have taken the scrap metal then, because technically that was waste too.

I got a nice chunk knocked off the bill for the scrap metal and having to take a load of rubbish to the tip.

Green bin collection day tomorrow so once they have emptied the bins I’m going to get back on it. Hopefully should have it cleared by tomorrow and I can start thinking about what to plant.
Typical. Green bin collection day yesterday, they emptied my two neighbours bins and completely missed mine! Couldn’t really ask my neighbours again as they now need their bins themselves now. Had to phone the council up and they have just this minute come back and emptied it. Was going to finish it today but we have a busy weekend what with Mother’s Day and I’ve got my mate coming round Monday morning to plaster a bedroom ceiling so I’ve got to clear the bed, all furniture and assorted other stored stuff in the bedroom before he can even get in there.

Dismantling a king sized bed and frame, removing that plus an half-ton mattress and all the furniture from our back bedroom in preparation for the ceiling being skimmed on Monday. Got to get some massive blinds down and out of the way as my mate ends up getting plaster everywhere. Whenever I pull him on it, he always says "No charge for that"! I've still got to take a shovel to the drippy artex and knock the worst of it off. Mrs Mottie has only been on at me to get it sorted since 1990. It’s the last artexed ceiling to be done - the whole house was an artex showroom when we moved in, including the walls. Our son tripped and hit his chin on the (artexed) kitchen wall when he was about 6 years old and he still has the scar to prove it.

Washed the car and decided to change the front and rear wheels round. Feck me, those 19” wheels are heavy! I’d hate to change one of those in the dark and rain on the side of a motorway. I keep a pair of overalls, a lamp and a pair of gloves in the boot just in case I really have to but I think if I wasn’t rushed, I’d get Hyundai Assist out to do it!

Oh, and I think I’ve torn a hamstring doing it!

They are very cheap carpets....Think on...
