Our previous cat got run over and they put him in the boot and took him to the vet. As it happened, it was one of the vets in the same group as ours. But the funny thing was, it all happened in less than half an hour.
He came through the cat flap into the kitchen, I gave him a stroke, he had a drink, then he was gone. 26 minutes later, the vet rang, and I thought they were going to remind us about a vax shot. Of course, I couldn't believe he had died.
It transpired he got run over right outside our house, then was driven to the vet, so that explains it.
