What have you bought today?

For years, I have repaired broken plastic parts, using an hot soldering iron, and office staples, just heating them and pushing them in with the iron. Then I saw, they now do a kit for the job, where a large current is passed through a shaped steel wire staple, made for the job, so I ordered one. It works surprisingly well - the 'staples' get red-hot, making it much easier.

36p the lot at Lidl. Annoys me when I spend six months growing stuff like that over the allotment. Mind you, it tastes better than that lot ever will.

A trip up the street, to look in some of the charity shops, to see if they had anything useful, then on to Lidl to do a bit of restocking. I spotted a Halfords rechargeable tyre/inflatable, light, come USB unit, with programmable tyre pressures for £5, so I grabbed it. It was totally flat, so on charge at the moment. It's taking a while, which suggests the cells are good, and judging by the light weight, probably lithium.
