What have you bought today?

For years, I have repaired broken plastic parts, using an hot soldering iron, and office staples, just heating them and pushing them in with the iron. Then I saw, they now do a kit for the job, where a large current is passed through a shaped steel wire staple, made for the job, so I ordered one. It works surprisingly well - the 'staples' get red-hot, making it much easier.

36p the lot at Lidl. Annoys me when I spend six months growing stuff like that over the allotment. Mind you, it tastes better than that lot ever will.

A trip up the street, to look in some of the charity shops, to see if they had anything useful, then on to Lidl to do a bit of restocking. I spotted a Halfords rechargeable tyre/inflatable, light, come USB unit, with programmable tyre pressures for £5, so I grabbed it. It was totally flat, so on charge at the moment. It's taking a while, which suggests the cells are good, and judging by the light weight, probably lithium.

Parking. Just remembered to buy parking for our holiday in a couple of weeks time. £76 for a week which I don’t think is too bad. We're too old to be waiting for an airport bus, loaded down with 4 cases! Booked meet ‘n greet at Gatwick. Never go in our best car when we book meet 'n greet just in case they damage it, cab it or leave it unlocked in the middle of a muddy field. No, it’ll be the stinky Fiesta we will be going in.

Today, I decided to test it out, see how well the automatic pressure setting worked, and check it's calibration was accurate, against my PCL digital meter. It over shot the settings by 0.5 psi, but agreed perfectly with my PCL gauge. It was as quick at putting the air in as my garage compressor, but cord/pipe less was overall much easier.
