Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.
In theory it doesn't matter, because on an A/C supply, the polarity of the incomer is changing around 50 times every second; hence the name, alternating current supply
If that were my little power supply, I'd fit a double pole switch as the isolator.
Doesn’t matter, the AC is immediately rectified and turned into DC. AC polarity really only matters in a few specific cases, e.g. upstream of single-pole switches (like light switches), fuses, and with Edison lamp holders. Some complex circuits in older gas boilers also rely on correct polarity, in that instance it’s a functional rather than a safety issue though. If connected the wrong way, the boiler doesn’t work.
They did, as did AC/DC valve radios, but they were required to be insulated to a degree that made touching the chassis impossible. Even the various inputs and outputs were often connected via safety capacitors.
Mmm... My son recently acquired one of those radios. The grub screws on the control knobs were easily accessible and connected directly to the chassis.
