Getting caught in the HOC watching porn on the phone, thinking it was tractors.

To some people it is, living in Cornwall I visit a lot of county shows, sheepdog displays, ferret racing, most have a small classic car show and inevitably there are the steam engines and tractors.
For several years I was absolutely hooked on the displays of tractors, Fordsons, Massey Fergusons etc etc etc,, I couldn't get enough of them, and suddenly, I just lost interest and found them boring.
You could say I'm an extractor fan.

9/11, 7/7 etc bombings.

Much of the country being occupied by third world immigrants.

Millions of crappy little houses with no gardens being built everywhere.

The disappearance of the high street (into Amazon's tax-free bank account).

Fake news / fake food / fake entertainment.

Conservatives who conserve nothing.

The dumbing-down of education, examinations and qualifications.

The decline of morality.

The massive increase in crime.

The normalisation of drug taking.

The normalisation of lifelong debt.

The normalisation of homosexuality.

The describing of all that was normal in Britain before Tony Blair as "Right-Wing Extremism".

That I turned out to be a decent fella.

That I became near fluent in technical ( electronics ) German, I was a total duffer in the school German classes

My teachers so far as I know are all gone, but I regained contact with schoolmates via a FB group some years ago, so we keep in regular contact. What does surprise me about many of them, is how much they have changed in appearance - some I would be able to recognise, but most not, they would have to tell me who they 'were'. I wonder if anyone would recognise the 'older me' from my appearance?

Same here Harry. If any of my teachers are/were still alive I think they would be pleasantly surprised to find out I gained an apprenticeship in electro/mechanical engineering. Especially after they were told by a welfare officer I was colour blind between red & green and therefore would never work in the electric industry. Well I suppose being in it for almost 50 years proves they didn't always get things right. LOL
As for school mates. I'm in touch with about half a dozen of my primary mates and I certainly wouldn't recognise any of them these days. We all posted old and recent photo's at some time or another over the past few years and they all agree they can still recognise me, in fact thats how one of them managed to contact me. He saw a group photo of a couple of lads he didn't know but recognised me nearly 60 years later. Sent a friend request and thats how we both got back in touch with a few others and they have certainly changed beyond recognition.
The other thing I have discovered is other people we all knew, and believed would make a success of life, actually turned out to have mediocre lives or were not as successful as we thought them capable of. Others, who we thought would end up in dead end jobs or become labourers/production workers etc were actually successful or held important positions. Two of these latter ones became highly skilled paramedics who went on to teach others.
