Does the fused connection unit also have a switch ?
Simple checks with a multimeter will determine what's wrong.

Cool, yeh will buy a multi meter and check.

the wires are relatively easy to remove so might recheck everything first.

I’ve not used a multi meter before - but will figure it out. If there’s anything should look for let me know

And yes the fused unit has a switch - just standard fused switch with a 3 amp fuse inside

You could show us pictures of all the connections at the FCU terminals ,switch terminals ,transformer / fan terminals etc .
If that doesn't show any issues ,the next step would require using the multimeter on LIVE circuitry to take voltage readings at various points.

Yeh, I’m back there on Sunday so let’s see - will remove wires first and re check it all. After seeing Comments I think I’ve probably labelled a wire incorrectly.

will take pictures on Sunday if I still have issues of all connections
