Hi all,
Im looking at having my open vented back boiler replaced soon.
The question is which boiler to buy? There seems to be so many nowadays.

Im looking for an effiecent, basic and reliable wall hung boiler.
The system ive got is an open vented, fully pumped y plan system with a hot water cylinder.

Are there any models to stay away from?
Your advice would be welcome.

wow the first this week with that question

IMO they are all much of a muchness

but there are as many opinions as there are plumbers

so good luck

theres more to efficiency than just the boiler. You system should include programmer, room stat thermostatic ,radiator valves, cylinder stat.

Then of course it will need to be fully pumped and maybe even converted to a sealed system to top it all.

Id recommend a worcester greenstar. others...no..gas4you will say vaillant.

Its all down to what you wanna spend at the end of the day, the more the better although many just look at price!

As rob says I only fit Vaillant, but whatever you choose make sure the installer is familiar with that brand and knows how to fully commission it to M I's and installs it correctly with the gas pipe size worked out fully, system powerflushed and registered with CORGI at the end.

You get what you pay for in boilers and with installers

A v good expensive boiler will be no good if fitted and set up incorrectly ;)

Bet that answer surprised you rob
