I need to replace my domestic oil tank and have several quotes. The installers (all oftec registered) each recommend different tank manufacturers with whom they each seem to have connections. Titan? Harequin? Ecosure? Q? QSS? Balmoral?

They all meet British Standards so are they all the same?

Pretty much. Look online at them, you may prefer the design of a certain brand to another. :)

Only fitted harlequin and titan, but harlequin wins hands down on ease of installation and for quality None have been in for longer than 5 years though so no idea on test of time etc.

Don't rate Titan much, the shut off valves in a differant place everytime (EST top entry), sometimes the lid wont shut because it is obstructing it, also it falls to off very easy, especially after the oil fillers have been

Not much help, Sam :D

All much of a muchness, make sure you choose one with Ofcert licence (OFTEC Approved) and my advice is to fit a BUNDED Tank, as regulations covering oil tanks are rumoured to be ammended in the near future making Bunded tanks madatory (this was introduced into the non-domestic arena a few years ago, so going bunded now will future proof yourself against looming legislation ;)

Thanks everyone. Any more thoughts on manufacturers anyone?

Future changes to Building Regs/legislation wouldn't be retrospective. My current steel tank (20+ yrs old?) doesn't meet any current Building Regs, but is still legal as it met the standards at the time of install.

Having said that, yes I'm going for bunded anyway!

Another nail for our coffin. That'll be boilers and tanks doubled in price with recent legislation along with the price of fuel which coincidently has doubled too.
