Which Radiator Make and TRV / Lockshield?

All makes stick if left in the closed position for a time in my experience.
I've seen this mentioned numerous times but its not my many many years experience of using TRVs, mine last ~ 6/8 years and some do fail closed but I just renew them then. I don't touch mine year after year and at the start of the heating season, they just operate away normally. I'd like to know why they "stick" (shut) because there is a very hefty spring forcing them open, you can feel this if you push on the pin, it takes a fairly strong push to close them, they then just spring back open. Obviously, In summer time, the actuator will keep them forced shut.
