Took down an Xpelair fan today made in 1972, but that's another thread entirely! Don't think they were ever sold cheap. This one can't have been made cheap either

However, whereas it is obviously always beneficial in terms of preservation of resources, one has to look carefully at the net effect on ecology etc. (e.g. energy usage), since recycling itself obviously has an ecological/environmental cost.

Maybe that's why it's the last of the 3 Rs.
