Whirlpool washing machine not spinning

Hi
Can anyone please help my washing machine will not spin checked, pump & brushes these are fine, when I rotate the drum at rear by hand then the motor spins for about 3mins then stops it is as if it is not picking up speed any ideas as to what maybe the fault.

Does it have balance sensor, uneven loads will prevent it spinning.
How did you determine the brushes are OK?
