He resigned when at the peak of his powers. Got to close too the truth obviously.

Neil Clark: The former cabinet minister was right about many issues – it's time to resurrect some of his democratic socialist policies

I get fed up of moans that ignore facts.

Has any one ever wondered why some EU countries do better than this one and some even have a better standard of living?

If I'm honest, no, not really, nor do I care. I do sometimes why the w*****s that espouse that nonsense don't simply f**k off and live there.

Remarkably, they choose to stay here and complain about how sh1t it is compared to the EU.

Extraordinary. Why not just f**k off and live the dream,

I'm not a fan of the guardian but the study mentioned does seem to be thorough one

A full study of emigration every where would be interesting. In some areas it can result in a significant increase in salary. That irrespective of Brexit.

Can't blame them. Why stay in a stupidly expensive, crime-ridden, violent, has been isolationist country, where living standards are only going one way. For example, Brexit has cut scientists off from important partnerships across Europe - it's only natural they will migrate to more open minded environments.

The new cabinet, crammed with affirmatives, perfectly represents our banana republic, second-world aspirations. There are lots more civilised alternatives with better weather just over The Channel.

Some do. I could quote people who have gone to Australia, India, USA and Belgium, and have a far better standard of living than they would have had here. Would you be happy if all those with the relevant abilities did that?
I would have preferred that the advantage in leaving would have been less, so those assets would still be here.

These people are sneered at of course by those who never got themselves into a position to have had the choice.
To make it plain, if you tell all doctors to stop moaning about the state of their employment in this country and f**k off, then they go, they're all OK.
The ignorant sneering gobshytes left behind are then in the predicament they claim to have wanted, and which they deserve.

Yep, to old to go now but, boy, do I regret not emigrating when I had a chance in the '70's.

They just tell you straight...

When asked why I was going back Home I'd say "I don't love it so I'm funking off"

The answer to prosperity in a number of countries appears to be a positive trade balance and low gov debt levels compared with GDP. I posted an example on Scandinavian countries. The one with most problems in this area was Finland where the trade balance was near zero. Iceland started high and then reduced. They have a positive balance. All have decent gov services.

The USA. It has a number of extremely rich. It also has what they call trailer trash, company towns and many people who don't do that well at all. Debt levels have been higher than ours 126% not sure what they are now. May be similar to ours now. They run at around a $70b deficit a month. China runs at a similar monthly surplus - loose yearly average.

India isn't doing very well either.

Both countries have a bit of a problem with oil prices which probably make the figures worse than they usually are.

Another factor. Amazon started off selling from his garage. Without worrying about the rest of the world he had a 220m odd population to sell too. Ideally a USA company will set up to service that. VW set up to service all of the EU and now to export as well. This is a factor that has always figured. Market size matters. A solid home market helps, the bigger the better. Then come globalisation which ideally means service the entire world.

:) All a bit of an over simplification but surely people can see the point.

Then add a lot of countries want the business what ever it is.

Thats just a closed mind.

You like what you know, never look over the fence and think anybody that does, doesnt like what he already has, even if just seeing what else is out there.

Explains your political view where you will always vote Conservative, regardless of how poor they are and how poor the leader is/was

Must be pretty lousy in France as thousands are intent on risking there lives to escape ??

Mind you the French are eager to be rid of em

The abandoned boats that they leave at the coast could be sent to Pakistan ???

Not really, I've lived overseas for a little under 2 years in total but was always drawn back by the attractions this country held for me. It's not an unusual position, that's why about 30% of UK emigrants to Australia return to the UK. There are far too many things about the English way of life I would miss.

I've never moaned about the other countries I've lived in and I certainly don't complain about my life in the UK.

But I'll reiterate, the people who do nothing but complain about this country and drone on endlessly about how much better life is in every other European country, really should just **** off and live there.
