There are transient effects if the water hasn't had time to spread out. We gather from HM you're 43 stone. Ook, so if you jumped in, it would be detectable on a seismometer attached to to a column. More easily detectable if it were the one right by you.
You, and the boat, have mass and therefore weight, but as long as you're floating, the weight is exactly the same as that of the water you/it displaced.
Your massive booty would be a new intoduction to the canal system, (as opposed to the boat , which was already floating in it somewhere) so the entire water level would rise a little.. But once things had flowed and evened out, no amount of pressure sensors all over the canal system would be able to tell where YOU were.
A microphone would if you were making a noise, and that's a sort of pressure sensor, but.....!...

Yes we do. I happen to be a qualified ex military saturation diver, it was the course that I was on for Diving that made me such an expert. The laws of Physics that concerned me was, Charles Law, Boyles Law and Archimedes principle.

You do know what an Aqueduct is ?

In your analysis you ignored the speed of the vessel and bow and stern wave it causes.
- A static or very slow vessel displaces the amount of water according to its displacement (archimedes principle) - so if the vessel is static, no additional load is felt
- a moving vessel does not. Hull Speed (in knots) = 1.34 * √(Waterline Length (in feet)) At a speed faster than this - "hump" speed, you are carrying significantly more water.

Any wave caused by the moving vessel will load the aqueduct.
 
I don't care less what any physisist says, they are wrong and I am right regardless of their workings and silly number symbols.

If the aqueduct supports are close to the limit with the aqueduct/canal only half full of water, does craning in more barges a mile away increase the risk of failure?

And nope I'm not having any of it more weight on the bridge is more weight on the supports...

Right now the mods can shut this down...
 
4 stools and a plank - one stool goes each end of the plank. and two in the middle each stool support 6 stone (ignoring the plank and any flex). Now move the stools in the middle out a bit. It's still 6 stone. Now move them to the end - still 6 stone.

It actually doesn't matter if you climb in over the bridge or a mile up canal. The weight is distributed.
