...... slag off the other parties without ever saying anything good about their own?

Is it cause they are all as crooked as each other?

Which is easier for you to challenge:
Ian H's policies don't go far enough and he's inadequate and incompetent.
Our plan for Xyz is superior to Ian H's plan for ABC, he's got it quite wrong.

A rough guide:
"doesn't go far enough" = "we quite like it"
"was disappointing" = "they didn't take our crazy ideas"
"is incompetent" = "has achieved something"
"ideology" = "not invented here"

I've got exactly the same situaton now with a specification.

Someone has criticised a product specified claiming it to be unsuitable and unproven, but without offering anything they deem suitable to use in it's place. We know why, it's so they can then moan about any alternative we come up with, and they don't want to take responsibility for anything they might suggest to use.

The actual product is used up and down the country by thousands of companies and individuals and is well certified and up to any standard. But is unaware of it or the benefits of it's use. Closed mind syndrome.

because its easier to dengrate than it is to suggest potential solutions.....:)
