Why has nobody given me £65million?

There must be thousands of companies that I have no relationship with and have never done any work for. Why have none of them paid me £65million?

Perhaps it was because I haven't got Michael Gove's private email.

Are they being investigated by the police?
I very much doubt the current crop of UK law-makers (Tories) would be daft enough to make it illegal for a chum to rob a skint country blind, especially considering she's part of the elite. Fair play to the scum though, they used Covid brilliantly to make themselves even wealthier.

If the NHS buys safety equipment they will surely specify a detailed standard/outcome, if they don't it must be an implied term of the contract, sale of goods act protection or not.

Blup

PPE comes in all grades of protection depending on the situation it is being used. Safety shoes/boots for working on a wooden deck on a plush cruise liner will be totally different to the safety shoe/boot used on a building site. If a building site foreman orders 'safety shoes' without specifying the standard, he only has himself to blame if he ends up with a box of canvas non slip moccasins. ;)

If we still enjoyed MSM journalism that was worth it's salt, we would already have a copy of the contract in the public domain.

Your Gov'n'mnt' is suing a company for non performance of a contract. At this time this is civil law & not criminal law.

As far as I can tell so far, the 'experienced' buyers of the NHS were bypassed & people who know next to nothing about the products they were ordering were able to place an order that involved £millions of TAXPAYERS £money.

Your Guv'n'mnt' is suing a company under civil law, even if successful there will be no £money left in that company.

My guess is there may have been some over-procurement and therefore the usual contract "scrutiny" is used to find ways to reject orders.

I'm not yet convinced that the supplier, delivered a load of worthless cr@p. The High court ruling on the VIP lane also largely confirmed due diligence occurred.

Government procurement processes are slow, complex and burdensome. In times of national emergency it makes sense to open up the processes, particularly to new suppliers who could meet the short term needs.

The issue of backhanders for influence is entirely separate and clearly illegal.

But they did and it is - google Bribery Act 2010.
