Hello,

I am looking to dot & dab some 25mm thermal plasterboard on the external solid wall in my lounge, after stripping back the plaster back to the brick.

I'm looking to have 2 sockets on this wall. In terms of wiring, can this just run behind the thermal plasterboard if chased out of the brick slightly?

And is it okay to cut a hole in the thermal plasterboard for the backbox, without ruining the vapour barrier/thermal value of the board?

Thanks.

If the plasterboard has polystyrene insulation then you must run the cables in conduit; PVC cables are damaged by p'styrene.

Okay thanks. Would I need to chase this into the wall, or can I just run it down the brickwork and dot and dab the thermal plasterboard over it?
