RM Cylinders dual thermostat can it be wired to operate as a on and off for a zone valve with out any connection to the programmer/control of the boiler ? If yes how would it need to be wired?

They work from the programmer to the cylinder thermostat and then to the zone valve. How is it wired currently?

I was thinking something like this:

I guess it could work, but not good practice, and you’ll so have a permanent live at the cylinder thermostat.

How do you control the boiler if there is no connection to it ?

It's a pellet boiler that's a self contained unit. Works on the returning water temp as rads shut down the returning water gets hotter so less heat is produced by the boiler until it shuts down, when returning water cools it starts up again.

Can you explain why it's not good practice and I can't see why a permanent live should be a problem.

Fairly sure you cant connect an unvented cylinder directly to a solid fuel boiler but stand to be corrected.

No I can’t, so I guess it’s ok practice, as I said in my reply to Terry, I’m not as good at wiring as others, and Terry also said it was ok.
