BY disconnecting it what have you done with the wires, the two black ones need to be connected together to form the loop .

Yes, just realised that after looking at one of the wiring diagrams in the baxi service manual- silly me!
Can't believe I didn't notice that, but there we go!
I will loop the two black wires together now.
