I have just had my floor turned up solid oak 118 x 15x 1820mm. I have taken 4 lengths out of the box and laid then down next to each other but with one end pushed in the grove its nice and snug the other end is out a few mm is this normal?

No, not normal. Quality floorboards should have almost perfectly aligned T&g's plus board should be straight, not curved like bananas
