Jobbing wise its very slow up here, has been since the middle of last year.
All the local contractors are the same, the builders merchants are like the mary celeste!.
Ticking along very slowly, hope it doesnt get any worse though

.same here i had a good run up to christmas and just after then all of a sudden it all died, not good, been ringing round my usual builders and thier all sitting at home twiddling thier thumbs aswell, its bad at the mo and its ment to get worse

ive not been looking for work since my knee op untill the last few weeks that is i get a phone call to work on a listed pub refurb ive been there 2 days now and im poppin painkillers for my knee it burns like f**ck the moneys to good to turn down there is lots of big ceilings everywhere right up your street jr basicly theres been a fire and its an insurance job and the pub is being toshed up, theres 3 weeks work here i offered plastering a job here but he turned it down, now he knows theres a big ceiling here he wants to come up but its too late now, i have thought of u jr but you are 2 far away this ceiling is 75m2 and they wanted us to do it on stilts but i can only just reach the ceiling hes gonna have to board it out, there are two of us i couldent do a big ceiling on my own like this with my knees, my knees are killin me, i promised myself no more site work but just shy of a couple of grand for 3 weeks site work has to be done, my knees are on there way out anyway, oh and look at the coving its been comprimised no edging bead here they have butted up close to it and they want it looking good so have to do that at the same time as well View media item 31441 View media item 31442 "EDIT" both my knees are aching now

TOO late now is it m8 ill remember that if jr wants it then good luck with it hope it looks nice in the end I turned it down because i have a 1 month old baby now and the misiss is still healing from it it meens more too me then a plastering job at the end of the day
But yes i did say id come over too you for a couple of days and help you out.

did you manage to get the ceilin sorted in the end then, im confused as to weather this post has actually caused an argument with you and plstrng or is it banter, cos im always happy to help people if they want me to but dnt wanna step on toes over it.

its banter jr i offered plstering the job because i know him ive met him personally hes cushty, i offered him the job but he dident want it but when told about the celiling he said he would come down but its to late lol thats all there is to it there was a job but now theres not, but have mentioned to him a third spread
well as i said mate if you do need anyone im always up for something unless i have a prior engagement of course.

a hallway and the living quaters too do yet ill keep you posted
your thinking of the down satires part bud with a the lighting troffs thats all painted now
its that pub you parked in when came down just over the road
its still not finished still **** load of plasting and rendering fcking hate rendering
so far theres bin 6 difrent plasterers on site and 4 difrent chipys

was your 75m2 ceiling boarded out or did you do it on stilts? if you can do this ceiling on stilts to save him boarding it out the boss may go for it its just over 9ft tall and i can just about reach the ceiling on the second to last notches on my stilts which are the 18-32 size im 5ft 8, so if you think you can do it ill tell him i know a ceiling specialist, let me know by tonight and ill put it to him tomorrow, i dont take tea breaks but if you end up doing it ill sit down and watch you with a cup of tea and sarnies and get you on video for the lads to watch as well
