Some info here on insurance for legitimate Deliveroo riders. It seems to cover third party liability:

If you have an electric motor cycle you are not a cyclist . Very few cyclists have insurance .

The worse bit is that a cyclist is not required to stop and exchange details following an accident.

I know. I thought we were comparing real Deliveroo riders with fake ones. To see the types of situations where a real rider would be covered and fake riders won't be.

and the bike is not a bike.

I assume they have equivalent arrangements to cover all modes of transport.

My takeaway (pardon the pun) is that if a real Deliveroo person injures you then you will get compensation. But if it is a fake one, you won't.

I would doubt many of those making deliveries, even the legally employed parcel deliverers, using their private cars - have the Hire and Reward cover. Likewise, those in cars, doing the food deliveries - they are often quite young, driving tiny cars, so even their basic TPFT cover will be quite expensive, I would expect the Hire and Reward cover, due to the nature, will be extremely expensive for them.

Assuming their moped insurance or whatever actually covers them for work... if not back to the MIB. But its good to know that the bloke sitting in his flat making the money off the back of some poor illegal, is insured for deliveries by bicycle that he isn't doing
