hi im looking for the name of a specific tool. it looks like a normal socket but has pins inside of it enabling it to grip any worn nut securely so as to be able to undo it. i need to loosen an alan key bolt which has rounded off and has restricted access. any helps greatly appreciated. thanks TONY

I beleive that type of socket is called a gator grip.

I have a couple of JML wrenches which are about £7 for the pair at Woolworths, they also supposed to be good for removing rounded nuts (though I've never had chance to try them on any yet),

I would have thought an Allen key bolt would have a round external.

left handed drill

(this is not a joke)

I'd like to see a Gator get a grip on a socket-headed bolt with a rounded socket

How big is the head of the bolt? it may be possible to get some small pipe grips onto it. That has worked for me a few times, or maybe try getting an allan key that is 1 or 2 sizes too big and hammer it in ;)
