the national black police association was accused of being a racist outfit at its own conference by a guest speaker who was invited by mistake ,
they though they had booked former home secretary David Davis, but had in fact booked tory MP David Davies who then lanched a critical speech aimed at the NBPA.claiming that its policy of only allowing ethnic minorities to have full member ship could be considered explicitly racist  and so say all of us   after his speech he was ask if he wanted a escort from the building as he had enraged some black police officers ;)

Kinda proves his point, really. Institutional racism in the NBPA to the point where they'd mob a man of a different ethnicity to them simply for having the balls to air his views.

Racism is a crime whichever way it is directed.

The MP is a legend! I think he makes a fair point. If a "white policeman" club was formed they'd be screaming discrimination and suing hardworking taxpayers for millions! They are as racist as those they criticise imo.

Victimhood is now big business, one bloke in a building society has just received 2.8 million in compensation for race discrimination, also a police man is suing because he isn't allowed to wear traditional African dress.

I didn't realise that my MP was racist - and what exactly did he tell them? ;)

It was in the Daily Mail, he was a detective who didn't like wearing a necktie, and also didn't like the way he was treated,

I read about this in a different newspaper. I couldn't believe it. He didn't like the fact that male officers had to wear a necktie, but female officers didn't. So one day he went into work dressed in full African traditional dress.

The paper I read though, said that he was a PC and intended to walk the beat in his African attire. I thought one of the points of the uniform was so that they could be identified by the public. I don't think some bloke in full African traditional dress would pass as a copper on the streets.

That is one of the points of the uniform and his application to wear his national dress whilst on duty will be denied and thrown out of any court. His National Dress has nothing to do with his job nor is his right to wear it protected under the law. The national dress of Scotland is the kilt but a Scottish Police Officer is not permitted to wear it on duty nor would he win any legal proceedings to try and do this.

Are you thinking of anti-political correctness campaigner Philip Davies MP?

What would English national dress be? Morris dancing attire?

They could use their club thing as a truncheon, could be quite effective. And a traditional English bowler hat or top hat would work well as a policeman's helmet.

JohnD,
Google in: "Daily Mail, Policeman wearing African dress". You can read the story there. I tried to put the link into a post the other day, but it wouldn't go.

Roughcaster.
