Zanussi Tumble Dryer TDS383W - Filter

Anyone know how to remove the Fluff/Lint filter from the Zanussi TDS383W tumble dryer.

The user manual says its not removable, yet if I purchased a new filter they come in 2 halves.

The reason I want to remove the filter, I can see fluff/lint behind the filter.
