Switching problem..

You need to see how the 3 cores inserted in the terminals at the other switch, and copy.

Don't know what you mean..The other switch is a nightmare, with 4 cables
in to similar switch.

That as it may be, you should find that two of the cables are 3 core + earth leading to the switch in the kitchen, and the other two are 2 core + earth to the light fittings.

If you copy over the wiring of the 3 core + earth from the adjoining room then everything should be just fine.

I see what you mean the twin & earth (blue, brown & earth) are from light fittings.

I have copied the three core & earth (with black, grey brown & earth), and it's still no good!

Not meaning to teach you to suck eggs, but are you sure you've copied it correctly? Different switches have their terminals arranged in different ways, and so it isn't necessarily correct to assume the wires need to go to the same physical 'places'. You need to be looking at the markings on the terminals of both switches and wiring like for like.

It sounds as if you have this sort of arrangement:

...although, in your case, you'll have this x2.

Having a lot of problems with this!

I have tried every configuration on the switch in my original diagram & nothing (might be a dodgy switch?)

I think i'm right in saying that during at least one point changing the wiring, the lights should have come on, even if I couldnt switch off! BUT NOTHING.

There juice to every wire on the tester.

How is it wired at the other end? Can you post a photo? If you look at the above pic you should have something similar but twice.

If you're sure that none of the wires is a neutral then you can test the light fitting out by putting all 3 wires together on a terminal block. If the light doesn't come on, you have more problems than just the switch.

It is a bit of a mess! You shouldn't use the CPC as a cheese wire too ;)
Strip the grey outer sheath back so there is only about 10mm of grey inside the back box on each cable, don't leave too much wire in there as it gets cluttered as you have found! Are the holes grommeted? Also you need to sleeve the blue, grey and black wires with brown sleeving. You also have a little bit too much copper showing where the wires are inserted into the switch. You also need to make the enclosure formed by the plasterboard a little bit nicer or bring the back box forwards a bit.
Trying to make out what you have - what is the top terminal labelled as on the switch?
