How do I wire this 2 port valve into system?

Fair enough, he will need to take the L & N from T 3 & 5 in the boiler

No, because if he put the boiler into HW only mode the programmer would lose it' power and go blank.

Ignore T3 and T5. All he needs to do is connect to T4 to fire the boiler!

You can't ignore T3.

T3 & T4 are the switching wires and must be used for external controls.

And T 3 is permanent live in any mode.

IIRC, Doitall is right on this one.

The Ecotec will fire if 240v is put on terminal 4, but the user may turn the boiler off and also expect the controls to be isolated.

When live and neutral are taken from 3 and 5, the controls will (correctly) be unpowered when the boiler power switch is turned off.

There's no need to put the boiler into HW only mode, as the programmer and stats will take care of this.

Sensibly thinking though, the OP should have gone the Y-plan route for 2 fully independent zones.

I recently did a system with 2 UF zones and a 3rd rad zone. The grey wires from the MVs were wired to the external out on the boiler, the oranges back in to fire the combi.
All the other controls, programmable stats, pumps, MV lives etc were wired independently to the boiler.

I suggest that on page 1

Just found this in the Vaillant wiring book if it's any good.

DRAYTON HW CH HW CH
OFF OFF ON ON
LP241, LP522, LP722 N L 1 2 3 4
Note: X indicates terminal not used t t t t t t
5 3 8 X 7 6

obviously 1-8 isn't used either in this case.

I've got the full ACL Drayton training manual here, every conceivable diagram for all systems and add ons.

Did the course in the early 90's. Very handy, I often have to tell electricians what to do, as most don't fully comprehend the working principles.

100.......woo hooo!

its like watching your mileometer in the car hit a 1000!!!!!

I know a few sparkies that are good, but agree it's few and far between.

It's a specialist trade really, especially the bigger stuff we do/did.
