He's 70 stone (445 kilos).

They want him to go to another county for life saving treatment.

Apparently he can't walk to the special ambulance (low loader) but can find the way to fill his toilet pan 4 times a day.

Who does his shopping and feeds his face?

An anorexic can be certified and force fed. Isn't it time these fatties were certified and force dieted?

What a waste of money. Wonder what he does for a living?

He might be a right nice bloke and worth trying to help.
Unlike some of the 8st tosspots that I see walking the streets with eyes as big as the Liverpool beach ball.

I heard on the radio that they are going to make calling someone fat a hate crime...

he should be paying for his own transport, if he cant afford it, tough.

he can have another jumbo curry to commiserate the end of his miserable existence.

Eating disorder is a psychological illness, no difference to smokers and heavy drinkers as it's the only way of coping with their life.

Hmmm, that's a good point masona. I suppose if he were my dad or similar I'd be thinking different to nickso, Coljack etc. I also like Prentice's point.

But 70 stone is some eating disorder though!

Smokers should be paying for their own healthcare. If they cant afford it, tough.

Whats the difference? They bring it on themselves.

As for smoking: Im still not smoking after a 60 a day habit for 10 years.
As for drinking: I quit 6 weeks ago and have never looked back.

I have always lifted weights though, and the muscle is returning very quickly with guidence.

As for food... surely he could cut down a bit. I have a bit of willpower to ensure I live longer. Im running about 30 miles a week, and got back to the gym. Im 17 stone at the mo, and I have me abs back. The gym is a new focus for me.

Paul.

iirc there was an old chap who was refused an op because he still smoked, now we all know smoking is bad,i smoke but surely if there a rule for 1(and he pays taxes on the tabbaco)then this obese chap needs to help himself, how does he manage to afford 3 main course takeaways as said in the papers?
ive read about his problems and i feel for the guy,but i do wonder if he will put it all back on again like last time.

If you are to use that logic as regards health care, then their is a long list of other self caused accidents/diseases/problems.

Skiers/mountaineers/horse riders/car drivers/drinkers/drug users/people who eat too much/people who eat too little....etc.etc.etc. I am sure you could add to the list.

It should never come to selective health care because of various prejudices, it's a slippery slope, where do you stop?

read what i wrote, i said he should be paying for his own transport not his healthcare.

the bill for transport looks like its going to be as much as the operation and after care.

however, in theory, i have no problem with paying for your healthcare if you refuse to stop your activities after you have been advised to do so by a healthworker. theres no way this lard bucket hasnt been told to stop eating 10,000 calories a day by a doctor. he is putting himself at risk, thats his problem. he is wasting our money, thats our problem. if a smoker was advised they had an existing medical issue because of their smoking they should stop smoking to continue to recieve free healthcare for it.

near impossible to police mind you, may even waste more NHS money policing it too.

I bet there is a quote somewhere , that he says i hardly eat anything .
