Ideal Logic Plus Combination Boiler - is it any good?

Ideal are giving a 5 year warranty on the "Logic Plus Combination Boiler" range. I see the older Ideal boilers were not thought of very highly, but haven't seen any comments at all about this one.

Is it any good do you reckon?

its too new to know. On past experience it would appear to be a risky investment(all previous Ideal condensing boilers have been horrendous). Come back in 3 years and you'll get a better answer. Ideal and Ideal engineers(such as above) are telling us its amazing, maybe it is, but its still early days...time will tell....

You ain't seen many posts cause they've (hopefully) turned the page and learn't from their mistakes!

If you can take get a tour of the factory and watch them getting built. Everything is run by computer and filmed, if it detects slightest difference it's binned

In the last 6 months i've been to 1 call out on it constantly going into pump overrun, got there and it weren't a boiler fault. installer hadn't put external controls in yet. but had use integral timer left on constant so boiler thinks theres someone in the house and will keep trying to fire. boiler would run then reach eco temp and stay in over run to protect ally hex.

Thank you for the replies. When I searched I couldn't find any threads about these boilers, but since then I have and see now that with them being relatively new and from a company with a very poor reputation in the past, there is not enough to go on.

My installer has suggested that a Vaillent or Glow-Worm would be recommended if the flow requirements where higher on the hot water side, but for a single person household the Ideal Logic + would be a good choice and save some money. He also said the 5 year warranty made it a better deal.

So I'll just have to get the crystal ball out, or toss a coin...

As Micky said, personally I would avoid ideal until they can prove over time that their Logic + is as good a product as claims to be.

Don't toss a coin - do some reserch and get some opinions from reccommended RGI's. There is quite a few boilers out there that are good, and will do a decent job. Judging on past performances, Ideal aint one of them

Saw it at ecobuild and to be fair, it does look. Spoke to the rep for some time I told him I doubted it would live up to what he was saying but he had half convinced me.

Anyway, he scans my ticket so they could send me further information. I don't think the scanner could have worked because I'm still waiting

Shoite. The tosspots even had the cheak to spam email me about it calling me an Ideal Boiler Installer.

Going to phone them tomorrow and tell them not to randomly abuse innocents like that.
