PrinceofDarkness

Hello dears, I'm not a regular on this forum, and not used to the layout, but I'm a regular in all other respects.........

I don't have a question, I'm far too elderly to question anything, but I do have an observation: The main topic page indicates the number of replies to a certain post, but it also shows the number of 'views'. Sometimes, the number of views is in the hundreds whilst the number of replies is a mere half-dozen. This leads me to think that there's an awful number of shy people on this forum........

What do you think, dears? Should I just bugger orf to the Screwfix Forum and mind my own business?

It's because every time there is a reply to a thread, lots of people have a look. Many might not know the answer, or the question might have already been answered.

Also, people might click onto that thread to link to it in another thread for example.

Every time you open it, it counts as a view. It is not the number of actual people who have viewed it.

Thank you, RF, for taking the trouble to state the blooming obvious.......

Lucia.

I notice on screwfix, from my infrequent and brief visits to their forum that most views appear to be generated by people revisiting, incredulous, at the responses, by some of the reular contributors

Ok, I'll hold my hands up
I play this great fun game, I enter a thread and hit F5 as many times as I can to see how many 'views' I can get it to before the next reply.
Try it, it's brill 8)

Are you the official spokesman for this forum, dear?

Lucia.

Thank you, RF, for taking the trouble to state the blooming obvious....... Lucia.

If you had not mentioned Screwfix I would have know from your style that you have been a member there for a while.

Now pi$$ off back to your childish friends and leave the big boys in peace, deary.

I'll take my leave when I'm good and ready, sweetheart, so there's not much that you can do about it.

Do you fancy yourself as a big boy?

There's certain senior members of this forum, such as 'Lectrician' who would recognise me as no lightweight in this industry - regardless of my chosen forum.

So stick that in your pipe, dear, and try to lighten up a little......

You're a strange bunch, so far..........

I'm sure there's a few here with a sense of humour - and I'm quite patient......

Unfortunately, in this case it probably won't work.

Tell me Lucia deary, why have you posted your question in the electrics UK forum and not the general discussion forum? Did you get shockingly confused?

Nothing wrong with our Lucia - He puts his opinions out their immediately without hiding behind a keyboard, holds no prisoners, and does know his stuff!

If everyone came onto a forum in the same sweetness and light kind of way it would be boring! If it was just a forum for straight questions and answers you would not be here - you would be bored stupid!

In saying that, there are some members on screwfix that could do with a neck screw.
