Try a train to Tower Bridge, see the Bridge and the Tower Of London. HMS Belfast across the river . Walk a short bit and Pudding Lane, site of the Fire of London. A bit further and St Pauls Cathedral. Walk across the wobbly bridge ( not now they fixed it) and see Southbank. A replica of Francis Drakes ship the Golden Hind, walk further and the London Eye.
Cross Westminster bridge and see Big Ben Houses of Parliament, Cross road and see Downing street. Walk to Trafalgar square, then down the mall to Buckingham Palace.
That walk took me 4/5 hours with a couple of friends with a stop in the odd pub or two for a quick pint.

Try Trafalgar Sq then, National Gallery, Covent Garden, Train to Regents Park, see the London Zoo, come out and walk to Camden Market http://www.camden-market.org/ Short bus ride to Abbey Road studios and play chicken with the buses pretending to be John Lennon!!!
