Many companies only employ migrants. We survived before they came to steal the jobs.

Really? Have you seen the work force in hospitals, schools etc. Hospitals have been full of foreign workers for decades.
Were the factories not full of foreign labour back in 70ies and 80ies? Just because there are no factories left and employers don't want to pay top dollar for manual work, doesn't mean migrants are to blame.

I bet there isn't a person on here that hasn't bought duty free.

Really no difference between that and a bit of cash and hand here and there, it's only when all your jobs are cash in hand that you are a problem.

Foreigners have superior work ethics. Thats why we prefer them.
And as I said they work longer hours for less money.

Cut the crap, that's all it's about, paying them less money. Plenty of people will put the hours in for a decent wage.

Agreed on the occasional bit of cash or tip.

Not agreed with either of you on foreign workers.

They are the same as the rest of us. Some are good, some are bad. To say they all have a good work ethic is as silly as saying they are all here to scrounge. Unless you've met them all , how can you know?

Can't see the relevance, one is a legal purchase the other defrauds the custom and excise or the inland revenue,or both.

Oh pee off.

Both are actions taken to explicitly avoid tax, don't hide behind legal technicalities.

Fact is everyone feels entitled to the money they earn, and doesn't like having some of it taken by the tax man.

Next you'll be telling me that when you stick sunflower oil in your diesel car, you send a check off to the tax man

So you are advocating complete not payment of tax then?

I think he's probably in favour of not paying tax himself, as long as other people pay theirs. Otherwise there'd be no roads, no police force, no army, no street lamps, no pensions, no NHS, no schools for the poor.

If people buy duty free goods whilst on holiday abroad, and only buy up to their allowance, they aren't defrauding anyone. They are quite within their rights to bring back, up to the recommended limits. (and from mainland Europe, can bring back above this , provided it's for their own consumption)
A friend of mine goes to France/Belgium , twice per year to bring back tobacco for his own use. A few years ago he was stopped at Dover and spent over 4 hrs trying to convince the customs officers that it was for his own use. Eventually they let him and his tobacco through, but 2 months later they turned up at his house and demanded to see the duty free he'd brought in. He showed them his tobacco (saved in his loft) and they left satisfied that it was for his own personal use.

There is a tiny irony I suppose, in that if nobody paid any taxes whatsoever then there wouldn't be any money to pay the wage/salary of those employed to chase the unpaid tax.

and furthermore Norcon brags of being a cheat and a crook who steals from the rest of us.

How many jobs have you done where you were paid cash that you conveniently forgot to declare?

I see the forum is full of daytime posters. No jobs then?
Foreigners got em all!
