Commercial Boiler fitted in a house?

Also to most others that a house only needs its rated heat loss of say 10-18 kW when the temperature is -1 C or below outside.
You are getting there, and the boiler can run at about 12 kilowatt. :)
Do they let these people out into the population's homes?

Tony (Agile) has got it. You, however, most certainly have not

whats amusing is how bigburner, drivel, georgebramwell changes his views with his new names. Apparently min modulation rates are not important anymore, a far cry from the days of recommending 2 boilers with an evinox 1-10 modulating system boiler on every other thread and not even a thermal store recommendation, im bitterly disappointed  What have you done with the real Water Systems ???

Yes, and 12 kW is usually the most that any terraced house with loft insulation would ever need.

But that is 12 kW when its -1 C outside.

For the rest of the year the boiler would just modulate on and off which is very inefficient.

Tony

Alexcarp would you be so kind as to post up the header specs?? Might be cheaper if the OP had a LLH fabricated as opposed to off the shelf , I would be interested to hear your thoughts , seems most on here apart from yourself lack this kind of knowledge.

Thanks in advance.

How much efficiency do you gain from the modern modulating gas boilers pedalled these days?
And how much do you loose from a slightly over sized one?
Since all the top gun gas men seem to crawling out off the woodwork then maybe someone will give an answer. (NOT)

What does it equate to in £££££ each year? Or should I say pennies?
And of course factor in the fact that they only last about 10 years then its off to china on a boat trip. (laff out loud)

Just like the modern heat pumps with invertors, the extra cost of the expensive controls that give a lot of trouble make any saving negligible I would think.

Well Ive droped mine from a 24kw to a 15 and the 15 stays on longer heats up quickers and dosent cycle anything like the 24 does and saves me £80 a quarter.

That answers it all really dosent it

Answers nothing.
We've had a very mild winter in case you didn't notice. So that's where your saving has come from.
And why you think it heats up quicker.

Despite the tabloids running scaremongering stories last autumn that we were in for a north pole style winter lasting about 5 months.
In that case you would be wanting the 24 re-installed!

The Met office wrote.
"The mild weather means the UK is also on target for its fifth warmest winter since records began in 1910"

To the OP. Go ahead and fit the boiler using a low-loss header.

Well he certainly won't be able to Google it Dan (my question). ;)
