I've said it before, the state of things today is down to two things.

1- introduction of chocolate into breakfast cereals
2- the decline of the mixed grill

I agree.....

I only got porridge (made with salt not sugar) for breakfast and, in our house, a mixed grill was two bits of toast - a normal slice and a heel (toasters hadn't been invented)

Mixed gill?
Don't you mean heart attack on a plate?

Quaker oats for me.

It should be illegal not to eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A mixed grill used to have a bit of liver and kidney as well , it was not a just a breakfast with bit of steak and chicken thrown on it beside the economy sausages.

I bet the Roman Empire declined once they started messing around with the legionnaires' breakfasts.

I know what you mean. When we used to live in a cardboard box, all we had was watery gruel. Gruel for breakfast, gruel for lunch, then that was it. We could only afford two meals a day.

Bubble still widely available but the best is make our own.

I also like a couple of tattie scones and a decent bit of Lorne sausage but then I'm Jockanese.....

:)

Why not have a chocolate mixed grill?

Sausage, Lamb, Kidney & liver all topped with delicious melted chocolate of your choice.

There is a book that claims the moral decline of society started with 1920s jazz. Can't find it on the interwebs now though.

I think you're on the money with chocolate laced cereals.
