Is it to turn the voltage from 240 to 12 v ?
Ok thanks. I have a steam room which will not power on. It has a control panel in the steam room ( Just controls) and the main Electronics box which goes ontop of steam what get wired into mains.. The electronic box is what I believe to be at fault. I have put a picture of the inside of it. It has a fuse which was not blown but I changed to new just incase. It has 240v going into the electronic box on multimeter. I just thought the relay might of gone and should show 12 v coming out, hence my question. Is there anything else I can check ?No
It is a switch to switch the 240 volt circuit. The switch is operated and thus the 240 volt circuit is switched ON when 12 volts DC is applied to the coil of the relay.
The 12 volts will be produced by a power circuit somewhere else ( probably on the same PCB ) and controlled by something on the PCB
Do that, no problem I just order a whole new electronic box .That's not going to be easy to diagnose, except for someone who knows what "normally" goes wrong with that particular product.
How friendly are the manufacturers?
Having said that, do check for any loose connections or signs of burning/overheating of individual components.
Yes it was not blown but I changed for a new one anyway .Have you checked that fuse next to the relay?

If either the incoming or outgoing neutral disconnects, the neon will go out.
