The problem we have is the rising inequality which can be measured through the Gini coefficient. This not an issue for those on benefits, it effects even the middle class.
Just to add a balance to the OP, I was paid 25p a mile in the private sector when I had to use my car.
Anything else and I was supposed to claim it to bring it up to the government 45p.
