Slight drip on diverter button

I have just sold a commercial spray attachment on a commercial sink and the buyer is complaining about a slight drip on the button (see photo)
He is saying that his plumber is telling him that it is not cost effective to repair

Can anyone confirm the likely reason for the drip and is it a quick fix, ie just a washer ?
Also, are they easy to replace ?

Did the buyer see it before purchase? It has passed it's best and would need to be replaced. Unless you sold it saying 'full working order'.

It looks to be in very poor condition!

They are usually a shaft with a groove and rubber "O" ring seal. A keen plumber MIGHT be able to match up the seal against one in a kit of "O" rings but that is not a job that I would offer to take on.

The shaft might well be badly worn and need replacement!

Yes there were pictures on ebay but not close-ups

The spray attachment was bought as part of/along-with a double kitchen commercial sink

It might be a pile of scrap brass ..... but I purchased a Deco built in bath filler for £7. @ a market. Re washered and lubed it. Put on eBay for £ A while later on TV I saw a posh bathroom on a refurb. programme. I'm pretty sure there was the filler, recromed and looking the dog's. ( if it wasn't mine it was another exact one) Where there's brass there's £££

Nice one always good to see someone making money,some years ago I took an old French cast iron bath out of a country house we used a tele porter and it came out of the br window it was stood on the grass and the owner said I could have it complete with taps and waste I was going to fetch my trailer when a bloke came up and told me what exactly it was and how old and then offered me
a stupid amount of cash so I took it. That has never happened to me again,shame.Bob
