I've never worn a watch.

Even before phones, had clocks in house, car, van, customer's house.
Have never been late because I thought it was earlier.

Really like the Tissot. Too much beyond budget, though. Maybe something to aspire to, if I win the lottery....:)
Point taken about Sekonda. And, for the same reason, the other cheapie watches linked to.

I have found this at Argos, which has a similar case and face to my old one, better to see, but no day.

I have found this alternative to the Citizen 8475 style:

My wife/kids/family clubbed together and bought me this for my 60th birthday. Been wanting a Speedmaster for years and chose this one because it's a re-issue of the original that was originally released in my birth year (1957). Trouble is, my birthday is not until November so I'm not allowed to wear it outside the house until then. :( It's got a bracelet but I went out to the Omega boutique last week to price up a leather strap and clasp - you have to buy them separately. £180. EACH! So that'll have to be my Christmas present.

But would you wear it while doing DIY ? Or just keep it for "best"?
Only function my £29.99 watch is missing is a "day" function as I need help reminding me what day it is nowadays....

Same as my Tag that I've had for years - wouldn't wear it to do diy or for work (work in a garage) but only evenings, weekends and holidays.

Interesting thread. I am supposed to be buying a watch for my 50th. I had said to my dear mother that she could chip in for an omega constellation that I quite liked. Unfortunately I didn't realise they start at £3.5k eek!! Methinks a rethink is required!

I struggle with strap lengths as I have 9.5" wrists, the breitling was fine because for the money I was spending goldsmiths threw in the extra links to extend it but no brand watches are a no no as there's no after sales support or spares back up hence, hopefully with a big watch comes a big strap hence my need and love of big watches

Swatch used to provide extra links foc, you just rang them and asked.

That s good to know but with 9.5" wrists I need at least a 50mm watch otherwise it looks like I'm wearing a ladies watch, I don't believe swatch make owt that big
