The truth is the BBC is stacked full of rightwingers. The chairman of the BBC Trust is Chris Patten, a former Conservative cabinet minister. The BBC's political editor, Nick Robinson, was once chairman of the Young Conservatives. His former senior political producer, Thea Rogers, became George Osborne's special advisor in 2012. Andrew Neil, the presenter of the BBC's flagship political programmes Daily Politics and This Week, is chairman of the conservative Spectator magazine. His editor is Robbie Gibb, former chief of staff to the Tory Francis Maude. After the BBC's economics editor Stephanie Flanders left for a £400,000-a-year job at that notorious leftwing hotbed, JP Morgan, she was replaced by its business editor Robert Peston. His position was taken by Kamal Ahmed from the rightwing Sunday Telegraph, a journalist damned by the Guardian's Nick Davies for spinning government propaganda in the run-up to the Iraq war.

Whatever the BBC is it can do what it likes without being carried by the tax payer ?

Yes it's true German state television is funded by the tax payer in an even more draconian manner, but that doesn't make it right either.

About time people started saying no where they are perfectly entitled to. After all if everyone just did what they were told things would be very bad for everyone,

I merely posted up what was reported on the radio . people can make there own minds up . Personnaly I have no particular interest in the Arab Israli conflict .

Although I note that Israel is the only democracy in the region, & those living in the West bank actually voted a government in

that's sole purpose was ? or is ? the destruction of Israel (hamas) perhaps they though that the Israel would not notice or would pour aid into the country

I don't really have any interest in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict myself but anyone in this country who thinks we are not affected by it is living in cloud Cuckoo land, the days when the Empire could send an army to a foreign country and kill thousands of natives and not have to worry about repercussions back home are long gone.
Western interventions in the middle east have caused misery and suffering on huge scale but that is not my point, while most people don't really care how many people get killed over there they should care about their own security, because of the activities of people like Blair and co people in Europe are more in danger from terrorism than ever before,
If another middle eastern country goes down the tubes then you can expect hordes of refugees heading for Europe , don't expect the Israelis or the Americans to take them in because they don't want potential terrorists in their countries.

How can Israel be described as a Democracy when they refuse to allow the return of the 750,000 Palestinians whom they ethnically cleansed from their homes in Palestine,these people are still living in refugee camps decades after the war.

I think the Arabs original aim was to expel the millions of illegal immigrants who swamped their country wouldn't you do the same? If Muslims in this country decided they wanted their own state in the UK with the right of Muslims from across the globe to come here and take your property i suppose they could rely on your support.

Blimey the Palestinians cannot even agree amongst them selves hence the Gaza strip & the west bank.

Look at any country run by Arabs. dictater ships, public executions, womans rights trampled on . hell on earth for woman / girls, as are many Islamic run countries. they cannot even treat there own population with any decency.

The Jordanians had a purge on Palistinians & killed / kicked them out. Kuwait kicked out the Palistinians after the 1st Gulf war.

Eygpt clamped down on them & shut or restricted there border to them. No one wants them & the world is sick of the Palistinian caper.

The EU pours in money to build a civilised society and the Israelis blow it apart,
The history of the region didn't start with the Kingdom of Israel,it was the home of various population groups long before the arrival of the Jews, according to the Bible the Israelites obtained the land in much the same way as the modern "Israelites" obtained the land ,i.e. genocide and ethnic cleansing against a defenceless population.
Contrary to the myth perpetuated by Hollywood and the media the Jewish presence in the Palestine region over the last 3000 years has been insignificant, when Christ was crucified the Romans nailed a proclamation to the bottom of the cross, it was written in Empire Latin, Greek, and Aramaic this would indicate that Hebrew was not a widely spoken language.
The tragedy is that ordinary people don't realise that it isn't only the people of the middle east who are paying the price,
The people of Palestine were never a threat economically,militarily or in any other sense to people in Europe until Britain sold their country in return for war loan's and American support in WW1.
