Hundreds of exercises dolled up in NBC kit and dozens of trips through the gas chamber to test said kit. Interspersed with films about venereal disease and how to avoid it. Jig a Jig street was never the same.

Well if it happens I suppose I will go quickly. I live a couple of miles from one of the biggest power stations in UK. I only hope that if the balloon does go up you are not on the periphery of the bomb blast so that you suffer agonising heat and light burns or even further away that you have suffer agonising radiation sickness that could take months or years to kill you. The Ruskies are preparing.

Nah. There were a few tactical/ strategy errors and Hitler's direct involvement, but otherwise it was the extended supply lines and the weather that did it.

Looks like it's winding down now till the next time. Trump is backtracking from all out global annihilation. I agree that something has to be done about Syria and all of the Middle East nobody is without blame there. Something has to be done about all the global conflict areas, I see Greece and Turkey are lining up against each other again. Theresa May would followed Trump down the road of nuclear conflaguration given half a chance as would Macron who doesn't have a clue what he is doing. Something has to be done about the bunch of clowns, in all parties, that are, supposedly, our leaders. Something has to be done about the clown Trump, oh yeah and Boris. Something has to be done about North Korea. I do not know what can be done but what I do know is that bombing people out of existance is not the answer. If I was religeous, which I am vehemently not, I would say that old nick is winning the fight between good and evil.

The Soviet Union for most of the 19th century was an absolute shambles, starting with the rise in socialism and then communism. It wasn't Russian fighting ability that won them the war it was their perniciousness. The Russians lured the Germans into a false sense of security and the Germans encroached too far and the weather destroyed their efforts almost completely on it's own. It was cunning not military might that won it. This was happening while Lenin/Stalin were searching out and destroying anyone in Russia deemed to be against the interests of the communist government.
