Titan Multi tool, am i asking it to do too much?

Hiya guys..
I bought one of these https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-tti701htl-18v-1-5ah-li-ion-cordless-multi-cutter/8058p to cut through an old wooden window frame, the last frame i took out was a nightmare, it took me ages to get it out, also i have to be careful as there is no lintel above the window, so i thought one of these tools would allow me to cut sections out and break it up easily as its not easy trying to get in with a saw, but i tried it on a small spare piece off timber, but the blades went blunt in seconds, so my question is, should i buy better blades for it, or just take it back, and if i take it back, what is the best way to take out a window frame?

would that really be better? wouldnt the backward forward motion smash against the brickwork?

I've used mine for all sorts but the window fitters used one of these to chop our frames out and they didn't hang about!.

My windows don't have lintels and it didn't disturb the brickwork.

You can be quite selective how deep you cut to avoid pounding the brickwork.

It's called a reciprocating saw or sawzall.

I have a multitool as well, both are handy for different jobs!.

i doubt the blade has gone blunt in seconds unless it has hit many nails metal or masonary
remember once you get to the join in the blade about 35-40mm in it wont go any further without not only cutting at the tip but have to rub and burn where the overlap is
as said recip saw is the best tool with blades being cheaper so damaging them wont break the bank

FYI sawzall is milwaukee specific. Many will know it to be a recip saw but it's part of their branding.

Ironically the blades sold at lidl seem to be pretty good - They outlasted erbauer blades from screwfix by about 20x

Yes, but they have the same depth of cut that all other multitools have - the limit is 25 to 35mm on many blades which is insufficient to cut-out door and window frames. Hand saw or recip saw are better options - even a jigsaw with a long blade can do the job

I am struggling to get my head round the idea of using a hand saw to cut out a wooden window frame in a wall, how do you do it? i mean, the blade will eventually hit the brickwork before it has fully split the wood, thats why i thought it may have been better going in with a multi cutter, or perhaps a line of drilled holes
