Fixing heavy headboard to stud wall

My wife has purchased a headboard and wants me to attach it to the wall. Who do the bed. I'm a little concerned as it's quite heavy and it's a stud wall. Do you think there's a risk the wall may not be sturdy enough to support it? I suppose stud walls can take radiators and they're obviously weighty...

Any comments and/or tips appreciated!

If you can screw into the studs, it will take a remarkable weight. (use a pilot drill)

If you have to screw into the plasterboard, use 'molly' fixings and buy the 'setting tool' so it has no risk of going wrong(ruining the wall), right where you need the fixing.

You need to drill a test hole first, to find out what thickness you have. 'Normal' is half inch plasterboard, but it can be double boarded, or 15mm sound board, or double sound board, etc. (plus skimmed or tape & jointed)

You could use a powerful magnet to identify the location of the studs and if your lucky they might line up with headboard mountings.

The self taping panhead type fixings I would use , a 5mm pilot hole helps when fitting the metal plug , flush brackets on the back hooked over the system screws that come with the fixing .
Accurate marking out an transferring of measures , can adjust on back of head board if wonky .
Imagine the headboard spans least 3-4 studs across the wall , would be possible to find the studs to get the best/strongest fix , keeping any damage , pilot holes behind the headboard so can be filled & repaired then hidden

What type of fixing does the headboard come with ? Is it intended for wall mounting?
