I am not opposed to old people.

But the referendum was some three years ago.

The number of people reaching voting age is 700,000 a year.

Tell me that they should have no say.

If I die tomorrow, for how long should my wishes override the wishes of someone who is still here? Is it rude to ask?

JohnD wishes all elderly leave voters would drop dead

It seems he would like euthanasia introduced, 'selection by voting intention'.

I see BAS is trying to re write history
No - I'm pointing out the relevant truths associated with various false promises and claims.

What David Cameron said in his last speech before the referendum:
"And remember: they can’t undo the decision we take.
Nobody - no individual, no Prime Minister, no Government, no Parliament can do anything to constrain future PMs, Governments or Parliaments. That promise was totally false, completely undeliverable.

FGS don't tell us that you didn't know that about our constitution?

"If we vote out, that’s it.

"It is irreversible.

"We will leave Europe – for good.

“I am absolutely clear a referendum is a referendum, it’s a once in a generation, once in a lifetime opportunity
Err....

Earth to Notch - this is reality calling, to inform you of the simple fact that 2016 - 1975 = 41.

We had a referendum in 1975. The one in 2016 could not therefore have been "once in a lifetime", could it.

David Cameron is the ex-PM. What his opinion was three years ago doesn't really matter now. He didn't write it into law
And even if he had, that law could have been repealed at any subsequent time.

His promises that "They can’t undo the decision we take", "It is irreversible", "We will leave Europe – for good" were always constitutionally 100% undeliverable.

Anybody who believed or believes that a Parliament can bind its successors is seriously deluded.

Best you tell Cameron, not me.

No doubt if remain had won you would ve agreeing with what he said.

You are calling DP a liar because he pointed out how the refendum was sold: 'once in a lifetime' -you are wrong to call him a liar.

Best you tell Cameron, not me.

He knows.

You, to my amazement, don't.

He lied, and you were so 'kin ignorant you believed him.

You are calling DP a liar because he pointed out how the refendum was sold: 'once in a lifetime' -you are wrong to call him a liar.

I've not seen him say anything like "the referendum was falsely sold as once in a lifetime".

All I've seen is him repeating the same old lie that it was once in a lifetime. That is separate from the issue of the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty, and is demonstrably unquestionably false. If two events are only 41 years apart they cannot be called "once in a lifetime". "Once in a generation", yes, but not once in a lifetime.

Everyone knows that, even dumb plumbers, so yes, when he says it he is lying.

It's a ounce in a life time vote

The first vote was for a completely different reason it was to join the common market.

The vote in 2016 was to leave the EU

Simples
