Is anyone aware of this or have links to other articles, etc:
The High Court in London gave permission for a group of British citizens living in Lauzun, 47410 to intervene in court proceedings in which the court is being asked to decide whether the UK Government may invoke Article 50 of the EU Treaty under its royal prerogative powers, or whether Parliament must first pass legislation authorising the Government to do so. The case will be heard before the Lord Chief Justice in October.

What idiots some of them cannot accept the will of the majority of the people in this country, they cling on to some vague hope that parliament can overide the plainly stated will of the majority of the people .........let's suppose this wishy washy idea takes hold ...what do you think would happen ?

The MPs in agreement with this idiocy would lose their seats Farage would reenter politics and end up been the PM ! You don't think so ? as an example of a party that fails to understand the electorate look at labour ! not many MPs but UKIP got millions of votes !

You would see a huge surge in UKIP if the government tried something as foolish as reneging on brexit.
Those on that boat are living in a dream world.

May is trying to head off dissent by saying "Brexit means Bexit" to buy time while she tries to puzzle out what "Brexit means" means.

She might be hoping for a general election before she has to pull the trigger. As previously observed, the plan date is speeding rightwards.

Some people think that given time, the numbers of Outists, who tend to be somewhat old, will diminish and younger Remainers will take more influence. The economic effects of the Incredible Shrinking Pound will be more visible by the time 2019 arrives.

Older savers will remember the effects of rising inflation and falling interest rates.

Wasn't it always the case that the referendum was simply to gauge public opinion and that to execute a "Brexit" would require a majority vote in its favour in the Commons?

Oh Christ, does that mean Mr Fromage would return? More comebacks than Mandelson...

So if Scotland votes to leave the UK the referendums purpose will be just to guage public opinion and the commons can over rule it?
The protestant people in NI shouldn't have any fear either then if a referendum deemed that Ireland should be united.

I'm actually quite surprised that the eu hasn't stepped in by this stage and demanded a second referendum. Maybe its because they know they will lose again.

Brexit means we don't pay millions into eu coffers every year. It should also mean we have control over immigration but its looking like the eu comissionars will be threatening us to accept immigrants on a huge scale if we want to keep on selling them our manufacturing goods.
We need to keep as wide a berth from the eu as possible.

When nigel farage said we need trading to continue as normal they poured scorn upon him.
Even though we buy far more from them then we sell back. These guys are war mongers that we are dealing with.
Nothing has changed in europe.

I thought it was 52% - 48%?
And would have been a much higher count for the leave side if government propaganda had been left out.

Yes "leave" had a bus with a controversial number on the side. Pales into insignificance compared with what the establishment did.

technically the commons could over rule the referendum ? and the Lords could also block it (The house of lords JohnD :);))

Both are un-likely to happen (??)

As for Scotland. Who remembers the speech given by a SNP euro MP just after the referendum were he stood up &used the term

"I beg of you (E.U) not to forget Scotland"
Beg

jeez the bloke should be an embarrassment to the SNP & Scotland

And Nicola wandering around cap in hand :)
