Hi - I want to take a feed from this socket for an outside security light. Can I take a spur or am I better off replacing this socket with a double socket and just plugging it in?

For information this socket is in a cabinet beneath a wash basin in the bathroom.

Many thanks

Actually, this socket is connected to the lighting circuit. What’s normally plugged in a an under cabinet light that comes on when you turn on the main bathroom light. So I’m going to need another plan...

Why on earth would you want a light in a cabinet under a basin in a bathroom, that comes on when you turn on the rooms main light ? Bizzare.

Am I missing something here ?

There is an under-cabinet light plugged into the socket, but that under-cabinet light is not under the cabinet that contains the socket.

Can't see where the op stated that.
Wonder where it is ,cabinet above the basin maybe.

OK, I'm done. Why does it matter to you WHERE the light is? If the OP wants to illuminate a closed undersink cupboard, so be it.
Why are are you picking holes?

Some may say as the socket is in a cupboard, it is outside the zones, but I wouldn't ever fit one.
