Draught around boiler flue through tiles

Hello all,

Is there anything I can do myself to stop draughts coming in around the flue of my boiler, as pictured?

Aside from covering the cupboard in silt and occasionally blowing the door open, the draught hasn’t caused any major problems. It’s more of an annoyance.

If it’s best left as is, please say.

If you have a gap it may be the lead part of the terminal slate. You may need a roofer or gas engineer with roof ladders. That’s quite a big gap in the felt/membrane.

As above really, as the pipe doesn`t get hot stuff an old towel in the gaps inside to stop the draught.

Expanding foam.

Go with dilalio - and before you get sqiuirting , form a large cup shape with plastic dust sheet tacked to the roof joists - the foam is good stuff but it tends to fall onto things (your boiler) below as it expands.

Do it in stages if necessary. You don't want a big blob of it dropping onto you or your boiler... I've had it in my hair before... Not fun... If it does spill, wait until dry before trying to clear it up.

Oops, meant that as a temp measure, a make do for now not forever.

I'd be more tempted to seal that back up with a similar felt or waterproof material that can be attached and sealed to the existing using a rubberised/bitumen high adhesive tape.

not taking away from expanding foam but I find it's awful stuff and it could lift the tiles if it gets under them too far.
