How can there be a short squeeze?

Come on Galahad, answer the question. The short positions you're referring to are bets against a currency, like the ones George Soros (remain funder and Gina Miller's husband funder) is famous for.
a 'squeeze' can only come about by illiquidity of shares no? that can't apply to currency bets can it? wrong again, oh dear oh dear.

When did I refer to currency speculation alone?

So the hedge funds have not shorted Uk stocks?

Oh filly. You played yourself again.

You still haven't explained how a 'short squeeze' can occur. I'm happy to explain to you why it wont happen, but I'd like to hear why you think it's a possibility.
Motmans right about you and Notch though isn't he?, you wont answer the question.

You even know what that is? This is from you not even understanding my point.

To cover their short positions if Brexit is cancelled.

Your explanation will only confirm you are wrong.

How many times do you get it wrong but carry on regardless.

EU caused UK austerity. Hahahahahahaha

I thought this one was stretching it a bit even for Filly. Everyone knows the Tories are the champions austerity.(y)

Half of Europe had austerity measures in place, I'm sure even someone with your limited intellect might recognise that half of Europe is outside the control of the Tory party.
What all the countries did have in common was having signed the Maastricht Treaty and by default agreeing to cap govt spending if gross debt exceeds 60% of GDP and deficit exceeds 3% of gdp

Of course your chum Notch claimed no such clauses were ever in the Maastricht treaty, when I quoted the page and paragraph numbers he backtracked and said these clauses only applied to countries who were in the 'euro', when I pointed out that the Maastricht treaty and said clauses were ratified long before the introduction of the euro, he adopted yours and Galahads approach, fingers in the ears shouting na na na na can't hear you.

Apart from a govt policy following an eu treaties recommendations resulting in less govt spending and the net outcome of a reduced debt and deficit, no mate, no proof at all.
